Trauma-informed Workplace Training

A two-hour, custom group training experience that equips leaders with the foundational knowledge and practical skills to recognize trauma's impact in the workplace, lead with greater awareness and compassion, and build teams where people can do their best work.

Part 1: TRAUMA BASICS

What is trauma and how does it show up in the workplace?

In this module we establish shared language, ground the group in the science of trauma, and explore how past experiences shape present behavior, in ourselves and in the people we lead. This is where we look at what trauma actually is, why it matters at work, and what it means to lead a team where it's already in the room.

Part 2: THE PRINCIPLES OF TRAUMA-INFORMED WORKPLACES

What does it mean to be trauma-informed?

In this module we move from awareness to framework, introducing the evidence-based principles that define trauma-informed care and translating them into the language of business and leadership. Clinical concepts become concrete: what safety looks like in a performance review, what transparency looks like in a reorg, and what collaboration looks like with direct reports.

Part 3: TRAUMA-INFORMED LEADERSHIP IN ACTION

What does this look like in practice?

In this module we get practical. We start by looking at our own stress responses, triggers, and patterns as a leader. From there we build the core skills: communicating with predictability, offering choice, repairing relationships after difficult moments, and giving feedback in ways that don't activate defensiveness or shutdown. We close with real scenario practice, working through real-world challenges through a trauma-informed lens.

Part 4: APPLICATION AND COMMITMENT

What’s next?

We close by connecting the work to the bottom line: retention, engagement, and the cost of getting this wrong. Then we put it into action, and each participant leaves with a concrete, personal commitment to what they will start, stop, and continue as a leader.
